The Kootenai County Republican Central Committee, chaired by Brent Regan, continued to operate as the most influential political organization in North Idaho through 2024, endorsing candidates, shaping primary elections, and driving grassroots conservative engagement.

In North Idaho’s deep-red political landscape, the Republican primary is effectively the general election for most local offices. The central committee’s endorsements and organizational capacity give it outsized influence over which Republicans advance.

The committee’s meetings have drawn increasing attendance from precinct committeemen and engaged Republican voters. The organization has focused on party platform enforcement, vetting candidates against conservative principles, and building grassroots infrastructure.

Bonner, Boundary, Benewah, and Shoshone counties maintain their own Republican central committees, though Kootenai County’s committee is the largest and most active in the region given the county’s population.
