Post Falls continued to lead Kootenai County in commercial development through 2021, with new retail, medical, and industrial projects breaking ground along the city’s primary corridors.
The city positioned itself as a business-friendly alternative to Coeur d’Alene, with a streamlined permitting process and available commercial land. The Post Falls Chamber of Commerce reported strong small business formation throughout the year.
Infrastructure investment accompanied the growth. Road improvements, water system expansion, and planning for future transportation corridors were priorities for the city council.
Post Falls, with a population approaching 40,000, has consistently ranked among the fastest-growing cities in Idaho. The combination of proximity to Spokane, lower taxes, and available land made it a magnet for both residents and businesses relocating from the west coast.
